History
Since its creation in 2017 under the initial umbrella of the Salvation Army, the Dallas Brass Band has quickly grown into a leading brass ensemble in the United States. We base ourselves in the British brass band tradition consisting of over 30 professional brass and percussion musicians from the Dallas/Ft. Worth and surrounding areas.
The band was named 1st Section Champions at the North American Brass Band Championships at the band's very first contest in 2022 and was nominated for the “Lower Section Band Of The Year” award by the brass band website 4BarsRest the same year. Today, the band competes among the highest sections of contests including the Championship Section at the North American Brass Band Championships and Division I of the US Masters Championships.
In fall 2024, the Dallas Brass Band debuted its Youth Middle School and High School Brass Bands which collectively served over 100 students in the DFW area in its inaugural year. The Dallas Brass Band is the host of two contests: The US Brass Invitational and the Texas Brass Festival each in the spring and fall respectively Our mission is to provide inspiring music and education to North Texas while giving our musicians, students, and audiences an opportunity to experience the excitement of a traditional British brass band setting.
